School-Based Programming
Brooklyn Debate League is currently accepting applications for NYC high schools interested in building competitive Speech & Debate teams. Our school-based programming follows a three-stage, gradual release model that is intended to develop the capacity of the school to run its own competitive team within 4-5 years.

Tier 1: Online Programming
Interested in giving your students access to debate? Start building momentum by inviting them to attend our online weekly practices and tournaments, as well as opportunities for in-person tournaments on the local and state level.

Tier 2: Intro Course
Want to build a brand new team at your school? Don’t have a teacher on staff yet to be the coach? No problem!
At this tier, BDL staff members run a 7-week intro course on-site. Start here and we’ll help you build a team from scratch.

Tier 3: Intensive Partnership
At this tier, BDL staff members run weekly practices on-site and provide professional development to a faculty member who wants to learn how to be a debate coach.
This tier also includes highly or fully subsidized opportunities for students to compete at online, local, state and national tournaments, as well as full scholarships to our summer camp.
